Joey Lowrance – GHS Choir Director

Joey Lowrance is in his 22nd year as a High School Choir Director in Texas.  After  graduating from Texas State, San Marcos, he began his career in Brownsville, TX where he taught for 3 years followed by 7 years at Georgetown High School; 4 years as the Assistant Director and 2 years as the Head Director.  In July of 2008 after 4 years in Lubbock at Coronado High School as the Head Director, Mr. Lowrance found his heart longed for Georgetown and he is now beginning his 16th cumulative year at
GHS.

Mr. Lowrance has received more than 30 sweepstakes ratings with his choirs at festivals and UIL competitions.  His choirs hold titles such as Best in Class,
Outstanding in Class and Overall Outstanding.
Mr. Lowrance serves as an adjudicator for UIL contests and festivals and
has been invited to other High Schools in the state as a contest prep
clinician.

Mr. Lowrance was born with a passion for music. He grew up in a musical home singing in barbershop quartets, choruses, with his family, in his home church and in choir at Seguin High School with his father as his Choir Director.  His passion for making music
and providing students with moving musical experiences keeps him teaching year
after year.  He has also been a member of several community choirs.

Joey married his wife, Barbara in 2002 and they have 4 children: Cord , Denman , Teague and Lola Kathleen .  As a family they enjoy attending concerts, sporting events and their family church in Oak Hill.

Stacey Brandenberger

Stacey Brandenberger is thrilled to be the Assistant Choir Director and AP Music Theory Teacher at Georgetown High School.  She is a GHS graduate and former member of the Choral Department.  She is proud to be carrying on many of the traditions begun while she was a high school student.   She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education from Southwestern University, also in Georgetown.

Stacey has 17+years of experience teaching music and choir to grades K- 12 in
several Texas and Tennessee schools. She has also taught 18+ years of private
piano lessons.  She is a seasoned accompanist who enjoys performing with
school, community and church groups as often as she can.  She has served
as the pianist at First Baptist Church for the past 7 years.

Along with her wonderful students and colleagues at GHS, Stacey is blessed to
have a supportive and loving family to encourage and inspire her every
day.  She is married to Andy, her husband and has two
children, Ethan and Chelsea.
